A Bit About Me
Goofing off as usual
Hello and bienvenidos! I'm Sanaa and I am a student at Washington University in St. Louis spending January through July abroad in Santiago de Chile. I'm very excited about my time here, and I would love to share my stories, pictures, and adventures with you!
The WU in Chile program prioritizes total language immersion by placing students in individual host families and keeping a strict rule about conversing in Spanish only. This program is meant to broaden our horizons as Spanish speakers as well as students of Chilean culture. Classes that we take in January as well as one of our classes from March-December count for WashU credit. Other than that, from March through July, we will be going to classes with other Chilean students!
Here's a broad schedule of my time here:
January: Orientation Classes (Intensive Spanish and Chilean Culture) at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (aka La Catolica)
February: Free month! Getting to know the city, travels, etc.
March-July: Classes at La Catolica (the real deal!)
I really hate looking at what I've written because I always focus on how juvenile my writing can seem. However, I think I've found a solution! This site will hopefully chronicle my experiences in a more interactive manner with each section other than the blog itself focusing on aspects of my trip in which I take special interest. Explore and see for yourself! And don't forget to keep checking back for updates every few days!
And yes, those are Chilean penguins.
